It was a great day for HETC runners, once again setting a record 11 team records. Our 14 and over runners ran in the collegiate races and held their own! The highlight of the night - Angie Martinez running the 800m and taking 1st place in a BIG way, with many college athletes and coaches cheering and in awe at her clear victory, winning by over 100m. She killed her competition in the 800m setting a new team record with a time of 2:23.19 and also set the record in the 200m with a time of 28.84 in the 17-18 year old womens division. Another amazing performance goes to Anthony Figueroa destroying the record in the 200m and the 400m with times of 25.75 and 58.84 in the 15-16 age group, setting both records and earning him Athlete of The Week. Jumping high into the sky was Jensey Gabin setting a record of 38’ 4” in triple jump.
Luis Gonzalez, Abby Boisselle, Jensey Gabin, Nick Olibrice, Gregory Desrosiers, Peter Crapsey Jr, & Isabella Edwards were our other record setters!
Running and hurdling his way into the HETC record books was Nicholes Olibrice in the 60m hurdles for 13-14 year old boys with a time of 11.53. In the youth events Peter Crapsey Jr. ran a strong 2:32.24 in the 800m and set a new record for the 11-12 year old boys. Doing a excellent job was Isabella Edwards setting the 11-12 year old girls record in the 800m with a time of 3:00.59.
Our boys took 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the youth 800m race, Gregory Desrosiers took 3rd in the 200m, & the HETC mixed 200m team took 1st.
