Middle Distance Highlights
Starting the day off with the 1500m, Gabi Olivieri took home the first place trophy for the 8 & under girls and also set two huge personal records in the 1500m & 800m! Running In the boys 11-12yr old 1500m was Peter Crapsey Jr speeding around the track to get a new team record for the boys with a time of 5:07.70. Also Zach Gaiero set a team record for the 15-16 boys with a time of 5:06.62 in the 1500m. Jensey Gabin ran his first 1500m at a competition and set a record with a time of 4:56.01. He also set another record in the 800m for the 17-18 boys with a time of 2:21.67, beating out his previous best.
Representing HETC as our only hurdler is Nicholes Olibrice. He jumped his way to the finish line in 11.06 setting the record for the 55m hurdles for 13-14 boys. He didn't stop at just the hurdles he set another record for the 13-14 boys in the 55m with a time of 8.39.
Amelia Walters had a great showing in the 200m, setting the team record with a time of 31.12 for the 11-12 girls. She came back even stronger in the 400m; she ran it in 1:10.78, setting her second record of the day. Emily Polomoscanik, HETC’s youngest athlete really held her own in her 55m, running it in 11.08 and set a record for the 8 & under girls. She threw an outstanding 11’ 5” in shot put, setting a team record. Anthony Figueroa pushed to his limit and ran his 55m in 7.44 and set a record for the 15-16 boys. Setting a record for the 13-14 boys was Greg Desrosiers who ran the 800m and got a time of 2:19.40 and the 200m with a time of 26.67, beating out his 2 previous best times. Noah Osias threw shot put and set a record for the 13-14 boys with a throw of 26’6”. He set the record last year & now he has moved up in an age group but is still setting records in shot put.
It was a big day for all the long jumpers! 3 of our athletes set new indoor records: Peter Crapsey Jr jumped to a huge personal record of 12’ 9”, Greg Desrosiers jumped 16’ and Anthony Figueroa jumped 16’ 6”.
